I now live in a sunny part of Australia after spending many years in developing countries in the South Pacific. Hand-Embroidered Wedding Corset, Connecticut, USA. Ivory cotton covered with hand embroidery, including love birds on hearts, front pocket for busk, eyelets for back lacing. Trapunto (to embroider) cording decorates and shapes corset. The back closure has ivory eyelets for the lacing. The center-front has a pocket panel for inserting a busk. Trapunto (to embroider) shapes the corset by outlining the design with two or more rows of running stitches and then padding from the underside which gives a raised effect.The technique was always considered very elegant. Trapunto first appeared in 14th century Sicily and was widely adopted for clothing in Tudor England, and then brought to America by the new settlers. In addition to the cording, the corset is totally covered with hand-embroidered flowers and there are two embroidered love birds on hearts at the center-front. Above the birds is a section of trapunto work. via Vintage Textile."},{"@type":"BreadcrumbList","@id":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/?p=9905#breadcrumb","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"Home","item":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"name":"1820-1840 ca. My books range from sexy to erotic, late 1700s to the mid 1800s, and with a dash of Australia thrown into the mix. My heroes and heroines challenge tradition and my stories often expose the seamier levels of life. I now live in a sunny part of Australia after spending many years in developing countries in the South Pacific. My greatest loves are traveling, anywhere and everywhere, meeting crazy characters, and visiting the Australian outback. I hope my books bring history alive and you have fun adventuring with my roguish heroes and feisty heroines.","sameAs":["https:\/\/www.suzilove.com","https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=1795828726","https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/suzi_love_oz\/","https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/suziloveauthor","https:\/\/www.pinterest.com.au\/suziloveoz","https:\/\/x.com\/SuziLove","https:\/\/www.tumblr.com\/blog\/suziloveuniverse"],"url":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/?author=1"}]}},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9905","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=9905"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9905\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":35394,"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9905\/revisions\/35394"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/28015"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=9905"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=9905"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.suzilove.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=9905"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
