  1. I love reading Regency because of the way people respected each other in that period. So prim and proper. But it was also a time when women were at the mercy of men who “knew what was good for them.” Great excerpt to show the times, and also a woman who refuses to bow down to that idea.

  2. Anne is a very protective mother. I know it was custom for women to follow the troops in those days, but I think I agree with the Captain. Why the heck didn’t she leave when she was supposed to? Great excerpt, Suzi!
